Eggs connection to easter

Eggs have been linked to easter since forever. In the christian sense it used to represent "The sealed tomb of Jesus" and it also represented new life springing from nothing. It also had a practial reason. During lent, the 40 days leading up to easter, people avoided animal products. The eggs that where saved up during this period was boiled to help preserv them. So when easter finaly came around you had a hugh amount of boiled eggs laying around. Funny how things work out.
