TNT Stick Crochet Tutorial (1/2)

This is the first part in a two part series on how to crochet a TNT stick. It's made as a simple tutorial so you can follow along and make one.In this first video we are going to make all the parts (the side, top, bottom and wick).

History of Dynamite

The dynamite stick was invented in 1867 by a Swedish man called Alfred Nobel. Before dynamite, the most powerful explosive available was nitroglycerin - extremely unstable and dangerous to handle. Nobels breakthrough was to mix nitroglycerin with an absorbent material (such as diatomaceous earth), creating a much safer, solid form that could be shaped into sticks and handled more easily.

Dynamite quickly revolutionized construction and industry. It made it far easier to blast through rock for tunnels, roads, railways, and mining operations. Major infrastructure projects across Europe and North America in the late 1800s relied heavily on this new invention.
