(CH)

Single Crochet
(SC)

Decrease
(DEC)

Decrease
(3TO1)

End Chain
(EC)

Slip Stitch
(SS)

The instructions are written in this manner:

1 CH, turn, 21 SC, 1 DEC(3TO1), 21 SC,1 CH, Cut the yarn and pull through. Leave a tail of about 1 foot (30 cm).
1 CH, turn, 1 DEC, 1 CH, Cut the yarn and pull through. Leave a tail of about 1.5 foot (45 cm).
