The symbol chart in this pattern contains the following symbols:

Chain
(CH)

Single Crochet
(SC)

Half Double
Crochet (HDC)

Double Crochet
(DC)

Tripple Crochet
(TC)

Slip Stitch
(SS)

The instructions are written in this manner:

1 CH, turn, 5 SS, 1 SC,
Then repeat the following sequence, all the way to the end of the row:
1 SC,
2 HDC,
1 DC+1
TC+1DC (in the same stitch),
2 HDC,
1 SC,
1 SS.
